Gov. Nikki Haley ordered an evacuation for all coastal communities in South Carolina, including Beaufort and Jasper counties, starting tomorrow afternoon in preparation for Hurricane Matthew.
PENN CENTER, ALL OF ITS BUILDINGS AND THE YORK W. BAILEY MUSEUM WILL BE CLOSED BEGINNING 12 NOON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5--MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2016. PENN CENTER'S OFFICES AND MUSEUM WILL REOPEN ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11TH AT 8:30 A.M. All schools and government offices will be closed in Jasper and Beaufort counties for the rest of the week, Haley announced in a press conference this afternoon. Evacuations will start around 3. p.m. Wednesday. Lane reversals on U.S. 278 and Highway 21 will begin then.
